Using Safer Meeting IDs

Generate a random meeting ID instead of using your Personal Meeting ID (PMI) to host events. Your PMI can essentially be one continuous meeting and people can join at any time if they have a link.

1. Open your Zoom application, and click on the Schedule icon.

2. Ensure the box is checked for Generate Automatically.

Personal Meeting IDs are good for things like small meetings and office hours. The Waiting Room option is good to use for office hours so you can admit one or a few people at once while the others wait their turn.
